Ventoso is one of several places founded by Venias the Conqueror, the most famous king of Primus. It is said Venias was appreciator of art and beauty and he viewed Ventoso as his canvas. This mindset would stick with the city forevermore. Known as the City of Artisans, Ventoso is host to some of the greatest artists, writers and poets in the entire Cradlelands, possibly even the world itself! A very liberal city, the strange, the weird, the mysterious are drawn to the city. Even if its in the slums, these people aren't judged and many artists find inspiration from them.

For all its fascination though, the obsession with art is also Ventoso's vice.  Ventoso historically had the worst legionnaires and warriors, which would cause problems for them time and time again. Furthermore, the nobili of Ventoso are boldly corrupt, building immense towers to insulate themselves from the common folk. The city is profoundly more poor than its neighbors, put to sleep by the constant bread and circuses of the rich. The nobili feed into the art scene to suit their ends. The Godshards struggle to fight back against this corruption, although when the Sacerdozio was at its worst, they sided more with the nobili anyway.

At present the city of Ventoso is at the height of its artistic fervor, its people have never been poorer, and it has never been more vulnerable to a crisis...
