Venito is proof even the smallest of towns can have powerful legacies. One of several places founded by Venias the Conqueror, it's true worth wouldn't reveal itself until centuries later. For it was the birthplace of Adam, the first Godshard. One of Adam's first acts of heroism would be when he accidentally cast his first spell, saving his town from a Maelim warband.

The town is seen a hallowed ground to all Godshards, perhaps even more than the Island City itself. Yet it stayed as quite the modest abode, not that it stopped them from defecting from Primus even earlier than most of the Imperium during the Imperial Terror. Due to its significance, it was the only place the vengeful Imperials didn't punish for dissent in that awful conflict.

Tragically in the present, a month before the start of Six Strangers, the town was conquered by a hive of Dread-wasps, who ambushed the town during the birthday celebration of Adam.
