The Realm of Terra is the greatest of the Benelim kingdoms. For it is a realm of more then just Benelim, but Fallen Angyls known as Fayphrim and of Gods. It is the seat of power of Domina Terra, the Lady of the Earth, the greatest extant deity and the wife of Dominus Omnitus.

It is also the home of Domina Amare and Dominus Venatus, the Lady of Love and the Lord of the Hunt respectively. Collective these deities are known as the Three and together they rule this realm. Each have their own fiefdoms within the realm, of which they can do as they please.

Geography

The Realm of Terra is largely forested, though grassy plains do exist in several areas. The trees are an extension of the Three and will change in color and hue based on their mood. Due to Terra forever in a state of mourning from the loss of her Son, this has led to a forest that is dark with trees that are nearly black and leaves that are red, orange and yellow. Constantly dying only to be reborn instantly. Despite this strange cycle, the forests of Terra are no less beautiful and enthralling.

Yet not all of the realm is this morose. Venatus maintains an expansive homestead and the woods under his watch are vibrant and green. Amare has extensive orchards teeming with fruit and pools that serve as centers of healing. Great fields of wheat, grain and corn form a core of agriculture. There is but one conventional settlement, the Lonely Port, typically used for the exporting of grains and fruits and for meeting envoys of certain realms.

A Realm of Power

As befitting a kingdom ruled by Gods, the Realm of Terra is mighty in several ways and plays a major role in the affairs of the world. Much of this thankless work is far from human eyes, leading to the mistaken impression that the Gods hide away in their domain and let evil run rampant in the world. But this couldn't be further from the truth.

The Realm of Terra is the base of operations for the Formless Sentinels, a shapeshifting order of guardians who watch over the world's fauna. As well as the Benandanti, an order who can astral-project to fend off evil spirits who threaten the harvest. Both these groups assist Venatus and Amare respectively with their duties and serve on the frontlines of the covert wars between the various Gods and other entities.

The Realm of Terra also has one of the strongest armies in the entire mortal realms. For their forces include not only Benelim and True Nephilim, but Fayphrim, Fallen Angyls, who serve as an elite guard. While they aren't as powerful as normal angyls, the Fayphrim Guard are still greater than most warriors in the Mortal Realms. Only powerful Godshards, Maelim Warlords or Greater Daemons could hope to best them.

But there's more to their defenses than armies. Surrounding the arboreal walls of the realm, are ranks of tree like automatons, three times the height of a man. Armed with sharp blades, motionless and unblinking, they are connected with Terra herself, and she can see through their eyes. In times of strife, their herald, the Fallen Archangyl Metatrel can take to the field or even the Gods themselves.

Outside Relations

The Realm of Terra maintains strong bonds with certain other Gods, namely Dominus Caelus, Lord of the Heavens and Dominus Aquarius, Lord of the Sea as well as with the Benelim Realm of the Golden Wood and the Realm of the Sea. Long have they been steadfast allies and they frequently work together. High King Ioannis currently resides in the Realm of Terra and his son King Christoros of the Golden Wood is a common guest. The Realm of Terra keeps an eye on the Maelim tribes of the swampy hinterlands to its east. For the most part the Maelim of these areas are peaceful and reclusive, but one can never be too cautious with such unstable souls.

The Realm of Terra has a much more bitter relationship with humaity. For a time Terra tolerated and even welcomed humans into her domain, but as humanity strayed from her commands and wishes, her resentment and anger grew. Terra was tempted to intervene directly and force her will upon humanity. But she ultimately decided not to, for she refused to be a tyrant, in her eyes that would make her no better than the daemon lords. But such mercy proved to mean little, for shortly before the daemon wars in the year 1000 AGF, Terra made the decision to bar her realm from humans. Venatus and Amare protested, since their servants have humans among them, but Terra overruled them, demanding they find a way to make it work.

Even in the wake of such a decision, Terra is painfully aware of the affairs of humanity from her bond with the earth. Although what she knows is often fractured and incomplete. During the Imperial Terror, Terra nearly at last intervened in humanities affairs. When the legions of Primus sacked the Golden Wood, Terra was outraged. It was said that only the levelheadedness of Amare and High King Ioannis that prevented her from declaring war on Primus. They had more faith in humanity and implored she wait just a little bit longer.

Their patience paid off and Primus fell into civil war in protest to the legions actions. In the wake of the Fall of Primus, the Island City sent a correspondace to the Realm of Terra, begging for forgiveness and asking for guidance in the wake of the treacherous Godshard Abel, a Teneb-Shard. They hoped she would know how they could spot more Teneb-Shards like him before they cause more harm. Terra did respond back, chiding them for their ignorance saying 'It doesn't matter.'

There has been no other communication between humanity and Realm of Terra since. Even two centuries after the Fall of Primus, Terra's resentment and anger toward humanity has not wavered. As long as this remains so, the Realm of Terra will remain barred from humans, its beauty and wonder forever out of reach.
